It's been a while but I am happy to be linking up with Lisa Leonard again and saying "Hello" to Monday.
These past few Mondays have been wonderful. My husband, who is also a teacher has been home more and it's so nice not to be outnumbered by our kids during the day. I've said hello to summer and am loving it. Which leads me to my most favorite chalkboard I have done yet.
I am also saying hello to summer reading. I can't stop. It feels really good. I have read such a random assortment of books it makes me laugh. From scary to trashy to parenting. I'm reading it. It also helps that the library is just down the street from my house, well that and the wonderful Kindle app. Here's what I have read so far:
I told you it was a random assortment. Barbara Freethy is one of my favorite summer authors. Lots of love and mystery mixed into one. If you liked The Hunger Games then you HAVE to read the Divergent series. I will be waiting for book three in the series until October! G. Martin's Game of Thrones series is amazing, but really long. I will probably be sending my kids to college by the time I finish. Sparkly Green Earrings is a great mommy memoir that is so amazingly honest. So honest and hilarious. My favorite chapter from Sparkly Green Earrings was titled, "The Time I Didn't Sleep for Four Years". Amen. I can't forget Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site. Chase is obsessed with all things dump truck. I didn't even know what an excavator was until I read this book for the 933987th time.
I have also been saying hello to morning smoothies. I am trying to battle the constant hunger that I feel from nursing and these help fill me up. My current favorite smoothie :
1 cup almond milk
6 ice cubes
1 frozen banana (lesson learned, peel the damn thing before freezing)
Few drops of vanilla extract
1 scoop peanut butter
Blend until smooth
1 fun straw and a cute baby in the background doesn't hurt either.
What are you saying "hello" to today?
